Our final stop in Sicily was in Catania. Here we stayed at the UNA hotel, which I dedicated a whole article to already, here. We started our day with a royal breakfast on their roof terrace. After check out we went to explore the streets of Catania. Catania has more of the city life than the previous places we’ve visited in Sicily with many shops and restaurants. Along our stroll we saw some beautiful architectures that must have been there for ages. Such strong character these (vibrant) buildings have.
Especially the university of Catania left a strong print in my memory. Maybe because I saw it on Pinterest first. I was so pleased to see it in real life as well! The baroque style was something I didn’t expect to find so much in Sicily. You have no idea how many photos I have taken, those prints are super graceful and elegant.
We also passed through some gorgeous parks that are worth the visit if you are there. Of course we also made many stops to taste the Sicilian sweets. I have no idea what they are called, but everything tasted molto bene!!
