The Museum Edit
Funny that everything I didn’t like to do when I was young, I love to do it voluntarily in my free time nowadays, for example: reading books, taking long hikes and going to museums.
About the last one, I’m still a newbie when it comes down to art and my interest at the moment goes to modern art. And to be more specific, I get a huge kick out of an art experience like installations. But also architecture of spaces or how a curated collection is displayed. Basically anything that is ecstaticly pleasing for the eyes and other senses :)
I’m looking for experiences that get me in awe and mesmerize me for numerous reasons. So when I see an opportunity, I make time to visit these museums or places.
That said, I collected museums in this article that made a big impression on me, from all over the world. How many of these have you visited or would you like to visit in the future?
1. TEAMLAB Borderless
Teamlab Borderless is the most recent museum I have visited that blew my mind. I was truly immersed into the world of digital interactive artworks. There was always something that caught my eye while I was wandering the different rooms. A true glance of the future of art museums that is fun for kids and adults.

2. Hakone Open-Air Museum
The Hakone Open Air Museum is known to be the first outdoor, open-air museum of art in Japan. It’s famous for exhibiting various contemporary sculptures outdoors, surrounded by the beautiful mountain scene of Hakone. We went to see the Picasso Exhibition Hall that showcases the work of Picasso in two stories of paintings, sculptures and ceramic work. The Symphonic Sculpture was my favorite as I climbed up the tower to get the best view of the (art) area.

4. Museum Voorlinden
Museum Voorlinden is a must-visit in The Hague, in The Netherlands! The instagram worthy picture has to be taken in the famous swimming pool by Leandro Erlich. Personally I really enjoyed the architectural work from Do Ho Suh, which is unfortunenately a temporary exibition. Do Ho Suh’s focus was to highlight the way humans relate to spaces and what makes us feel like ‘home’. The installations had beautiful fluorescent colors which he created by hand.
