— Dirty 30 —
Happy birthday to moi! :) Yes, you read it right, it’s my 30th birthday! I can’t believe I reached level 30 already, when I still feel (and look) like <25. To be honest, I was pretty scared for this day. That’s the reason why I escaped the whole birthday hassle to be on a road trip in California.
Why I was afraid for this day? Well, I always though that I should be fully accomplished by this age. I used to think that I would have been married and have a kid by the age of 30. The closer I got to this age, the more I realize that I am not ready for it yet and felt trapped.
My life is just very crazy at the moment, which requires my 24/7 attention. Then again, you will never be ready for something this big. And I guess there is no need to make this big of a fuss about an age and care about the society pressure, when you follow your heart.
As I have prepped myself for the past year that I am going to be 30, I am actually okay with it today. It’s funny to see all the reactions when people don’t believe my age.
I am embracing the 30 right now and everything in my life, because when I look back, I don’t regret anything. Every choice, every mistake made me the woman I am today. Not quite there yet, but I am hella proud and more importantly, intensely happy. Happiness is on top of everything, so I will celebrate this here in LA and give you a digital cheers from here.
So, cheeeers to the big 30! On to the 50, chasing dreams!

— The shoot —
I wanted to prep a birthday shoot with balloons and everything, but we have been on the road the last couple of days and couldn’t make it. Nevertheless, I visited this dreamy castle named Hearst Castle yesterday with a very inspiring story.
I admire people with a vision and the drive to make it reality. This castle is high up on a mountain at San Simeon overlooking the West coast (where I spotted whales, tell you more about this in an other post).
We weren’t lucky enough to witness this breathtaking place with clear weather, but instead we were literally in the clouds and it was raining. Determined that I was, I took off my coat and shot this birthday post in the rain.
— The Look —
I was overdressed for the tour, wearing this romantic co-ord via Zalando. I mean, I couldn’t miss this opportunity to have a beautiful shoot at an extraordinary location.
Despite the rain, I felt like a princess here. If you pair it with some high heel sandals, this is actually a really great look for a wedding or for your birthday! ;)
