Two years ago when I decided to focus on travel with the blog. I got invited to my very first press trip to Indonesia (seeย here). That trip was so amazing that it set the bar so high for the invitations after.ย So you can imagine how ecstatic I was when I got invited again last month. The theme of this two weeks trip was โCulinary and Lifestyleโ, exploring 4 cities, Jakarta, Padang, Yogyakarta and ย Bali.
Starting in Jakarta. A busy city that I really liked because of the endless hotspots and I had a little reunion withย my Indonesian friends again. As you can see in this photo diary,ย we ateย our way through Jakarta. Honestly, there are so many great restaurants in this city, it takes several visits here to try out all the best ones. I think we covered an amazing variety of coffee, breakfast, lunch and fine dining in such a short time. I canโt wait to go backย and continue this food adventure!
Day 1
Giyantiย
As I said, Jakarta is a coffee hotspot paradise. We started off our coffee journey at Giyanti. This place is made to take Instagram photos.

Bike ride
Jakarta is definitely not bike appropriate haha. At the Kota Tua square you find these colorful bikes to rent.
Shop Haus
In our free time we continued our hotspot search and we found a really really good one!

Grand Indonesia Mall
I can tell that Jakarta is a very mall driven city. They are huge and you will find most of the brands here.
We had a lunch at Warung kopi Alun-Alun and afterwards we walked around toย shop. Everything they sell here is locally made, like batik, jewelry, snacks and even gadgets.

Kaum
In our free time we keep (food) exploring. We met up with Jordan (@thatfoodcrayย friend) who brought us to this new authentic hip restaurant called Kaum. We only had a snack and cocktail here (they were yummy!) . I really really liked the design of the restaurant.

Namaaz Gunawarman
The mostย surprising dinner of the trip was definitely ourย โfun fine diningโ at Namaaz! Letโs just say that nothing is what you expect it to be. The element of surprise is key in every single course.
I was too busy to capture the experience on video rather than photos. So make sure to check out the next vlog! The evenining involves music performances,ย rain ponchos and lots of screaming lol.

Beau
We really looked forward to thisย breakfast at Beau. This place isย obviously Instagrammable, I mean, look at their garden terrace! The breakfast and coffee were amazing. Definitely recommended to try out.

Looking for a healthy breakfast or lunch? Beets & Bouts is the place to go for you then. The owner isย very sweet. There isย more than enough choices ofย Kombuchas and healthy bowls here. It was really nice to have this balanced break in between all the food comas in Jakarta ๐

Harum Manis
Last dinner in Jakarta was at Harum Manis. High class authentic Indonesian food are served here. Soto ayam (chicken) soup is one of my favorites.
