FAST FASHION??

fast fashion versus slow fashion

I had a meeting yesterday that really pushes me to think. It was a meeting about fast fashion versus slow fashion. You can Google these terms, but fast fashion basically emphasizes on fashion that focuses on optimizing the supply chain by manufacturing as quickly and inexpensive as possible with a lot of negative impact.

I won’t preach too much about this subject, because I can write a whole essay about this. I just want to point out that maybe we should stand still on this subject sometimes. I am certainly guilty to be a part of this movement, buying clothes from these brands. And I am 99% sure that you do the same.

I am not saying that we should all stop buying fast fashion. I am the first one to admit that I can’t do that. However, like everything in life, I would like to have a balance in this. I, for example, would do some more research from now on and will mix slow fashion with fast fashion for starter. Still thinking about how we could balance this. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts about this? I really am curious about your opinion.

As for the look of today, I believe it is a fast fashion outfit hehe (guilty as charged). It was a rainy day in Hong Kong and it was getting dark, which has a different effect of photos than usual. On the streets, I had the feeling that I was overdressed a bit, but the look is not that crazy, is it?
