AWAY FROM KEYBOARD #41

I haven’t really been home in The Netherlands lately to update the AFK diary, because all the other captures will be posted in travel reports. In this AFK I show you the events and some random snaps from last week.

— Otentic store Amsterdam —

I was invited to go on a press trip with Otentic. I had smelled a few really nice perfumes already at the UPR press day, but it was nothing like visiting their store in Amsterdam. Make sure you have time to spend in this store, because there are 73(!) different Otentic perfumes in the collection, divided into 8 specified genres.

The first step is easy, to eliminate the ones that doesn’t suit your personal taste. Picking ‘the one’ from the short list took me a while though. It’s a very personal experience that you take very seriously.

At the end I picked ‘Elegantia 5’, but I surely have a few more that I still want from the short list. Thanks Inga for guiding me through this experience, I couldn’t have done it without you :)

Price range:
Eau de parfum 50 ml: € 69 – 79
Eau de parfum 100 ml: € 94 – 109

— Licor 43 —

Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it to the launch of Licor 43 Orochata. I knew I loved the other one, since I drank it a lot when we worked together in Seville, see here. The new Orochata is a really nice new addition to the family. Cheers!!

— Corona sunset party —

In collaboration with Corona I gave away 30 tickets to the guest list only Sunset party last Friday. It was held at Blijburg aan Zee with a delicious BBQ. I saw Amanda Efrink there, a Fashionchick with whom I will be working more often from now on,  as she is my stylist for my television debut soon ;)

— KLM Open + Seminar —

Last Sunday I went to the KLM Open to attend the ‘Hidden treasures of China’ seminar. China has been on top my bucket list for quite a while. As a Chinese girl, who is born in the West, I’m always very fascinated with my roots. I was highly interested to see Ruben Terlou speaking at this exclusive seminar.
KLM was celebrating two decades of collaboration with China Southern Airlines, making many destinations in China accessible.

I watched a few episodes of Ruben’s documentary ‘Along the Banks of the Yangtze’ that showed a side of China that most people don’t know. He makes me want to dig deeper into my roots and experience the big China in my own way some day.

I love that he used the quote that I strongly live by: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.  The first step is booking a ticket in the near future? :)
