These monthly favorites make me aware of how fast time goes by, as it feels like I just published the March favorites a week ago.
Luckily I have plenty of things that I can and want to recommend to you! Here we go, my April favorites!
LUSH Bunny Moon Jelly Face Mask
What I like about the brand itself is that they don't test their products on animals nor do they buy the raw materials from suppliers that test on animals, the natural and organic ingredients that they use, and the fact that you can always return any products that don't work well with your skin just because that's how much they believe in their products.
For this Bunny Moon, it works like a miracle towards dehydrated skin. All you need to do is take a small pinch of the jelly (cut the round jelly in eight tart parts for the right amount) and leave it on your skin for 10 mins, and rinse it with warm water afterwards.
For better results as how the Lush girl suggested, I put a thin layer of LUSH Full of Grace before putting the jelly mask. The result? AMAZING! My skin feels so so smooth, hydrated, and silky! I would not say plump, but I would definitely say that my skin feels just like a soft velvet without the feeling of a tight skin as how face mask usually makes me feel, and I can't stop touching my skin afterward.
Lois Lee Guasha BeautyStone
€39, Lois Lee
This beautyStone is made from Jade in a special form to massage your face, based on the ancient health ritual from traditional Chinese medicine.
The beautyStone enhances the energy flow, circulation and lymphatic drainage for healthy, radiant and firmer skin.
I really enjoy using this stone twice a day, in the morning and the evening, after I finished my skincare routine with its products. The massage feels amazing and I can definitely see the difference (especially in the morning).
For more instructions on how to use it, you can find a video on the website. It’s really easy to use.
Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Porefining Mask
€46,99, Sand and Sky
I received this pink clay mask from in a goodie bag, on which a lot of followers on my Instastories reacted on it. They made me curious to try out this Australian brand.
This mask detoxifies and brightens your skin. It’s cruelty-free, zero nasties and vegan-friendly.
I really like the feeling of putting on the mask with the brush on clean skin. You feel a tingling in the beginning, which means it’s doing its job, tackling the impurities on your skin. After 10 minutes (I let it soak in 10 more minutes :)) you can rinse it off.
I can definitely see the boost when it’s done and my skin feels super clean!
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY
Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation
€54,06, Giorgio Armani
I was the happiest girl when I received a box full of Armani beauty products last month. I have been wondering how this foundation would be. When I was about to buy it after I tried it at the Douglas event, I received this box <3
The texture is thick enough to cover up, while it melts smoothly with your skin, giving it a luminous finish that I adore. It doesn’t feel like you’re wearing a lot of make up. It actually goes hand in hand with the other liquid products from Armani, the blush and high lighter. The end result of an Armani beauty look is just WOW!! Oh and it has SPF25 in it too!
Benefit Roller Liner
€24,47, Benefit Cosmetics
The eyeliner is part of my make up look. I have tried plenty of brands to know which one works for me or not. This one from Benefit is my go to at the moment. It’s really easy to apply, dry fast, waterproof and it stays put for the longest time. During the day I opt for the brown color and at night I go for black.
Veet Wax Strips
I have been using Veet strips for years now to maintain a mustache-free zone, if you know what I mean ;) It’s really easy to use, handy to bring it with me on travels and the new range is now available with nectarine flavor!
In my Instastory highlight “EASY PEASY” I demonstrate how easy and effective to use the new strips to remove my mustache.
Homecoming A Film By Beyonce
Available on Netflix
Beyonce is really the best performer of the era! This film is a documentary of her over-the-top performance at Coachella 2018, called the Homecoming. Not only making the history by being the first ever African American woman headlining on the Coachella festival, she also directed this great show with a purpose to show the world about her culture and by featuring girls with different body shapes and sizes, she truly brings a powerful voice, meaning, and diversity into the whole performance.
In her performance this time, she directed such different and magical renditions for her songs that fit the marching band theme so perfectly. I got all the chills while seeing this AMAZING performance, that I even kept listening of the songs on Spotify as she also released the live album for this Homecoming Show.
She also personally handpicked the male and female dancers from all over the country, she collaborated with Balmain's creative director Olivier Rousteing and her stylist in designing the costume since she wanted the colors and shapes contributed in the overall symbolism, and she also directed the filmography in order to let all audiences (and us) get to feel the vibe from the stage screens. In this documentary, you got to see the 8 months process of making this show happens. The tears, the struggles, the joy, the cuteness of Blue Ivy, the powerful ladies, it's all there.
Our Planet (Series)
Available on Netflix
I have been crying watching all episodes of our Planet, an eight episode series of a four-year collaboration between Netflix, Silverback Films and WWF. Humankind has become the greatest threat to the health of our planet. With the beautiful footage, you get mesmerized and educated, to understand the situation. Get inspired to see what we can do to create a better future where nature and people thrive.
Why We Sleep (Audiobook)
All you need and want to know about sleep. I was listening to this audiobook and got so fascinated by this subject. Did you know we can be divided into two groups: morning larks and night owls, and apparently this is already determined in our genes, since ancient history. Also, you can read what the consequences are with (chronical) lack of sleep.
Plenty more interesting facts by the neuroscientist Matthew Walker.
You know by now that I am weird right?! ;) To add one more odd characteristic of me to this, I can’t take it to have dirty (especially greasy) hands. Always a problem when eating fries and chips. I normally only eat with two fingers and wash my hands right after finishing the food. At home I use this chips grabber to avoid direct contact with my hands :D I am sure that I’m not the only one having this issue gehehe.. This one is for all of you!!

The Booty Club
€12 for a single class, The Booty Club
You know I reallly really really want to be a fit girl by the end of the year. I want to be the fittest of my life at my wedding. I am trying a few things these days to find out what fits me the best. Via Celeste we ended up trying this super fun booty club class in the club. If you live in Amsterdam, you should definitely look into this. I hope my figure will be like the one from the instructor someday :D
The European beauty market has been slow with adapting trends and innovations compare to Asia. To be more specific, Korean beauty! Dot Dot Skin is based in The Netherlands, shipping a carefully selected range of Korean brands to Europe. My favorite product that I have tried that they sell is the A. by Bom sheet mask. It’s effective and you look cute with the flower patches that you can put on an area that needs the extra boost.
Atelier des Femmes
Looking for hair accessories? I can refer you to the Amsterdam-based brand called Atelier des Femmes. You can find all kinds of scrunchies, clips and even hats in many different colors. It’s the cherry on top of the cake of your look ;)
UNIQLO x Alexander Wang
This winter I lived in the Uniqlo x Alexander Wang heat tech collection. The summer edition of this collab is out now. Uniqlo x Alexander Wang AIRism got me spending over 130€ on so many products, but I know it will be so worth it, as I am wearing it every single day until I have to switch back to heat tech again.
Address: Prinsengracht 232 H, 1016 HE, Amsterdam
Polaberry by my dear friend @polabur, opened a shop last year in Amsterdam and I am so proud of her for this. Next to her successful Instagram account, she runs this shop selling the cutest and most delicious chocolate (strawberries) bites. For sure try at least one if you’re in town!
Address: Van Slingelandtplein 7, 1051 DD Amsterdam
Your address to order Korean Fried Chicken in Amsterdam. You can select from four tasty flavors: Fire chicken, Honey Combo, Sweet Chilli and Super Soya. I have tried them all and can’t really pick a favorite as they are all really good. We order here at least twice a month!
High Tea at Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam
Address: Herengracht 542-556, 1017 CG Amsterdam
Waldorf Astoria is the most luxurious place I visited in Amsterdam. The hotel is elegant with so much class. Have something to celebrate? I would suggest treating you and your dear +1 to an afternoon tea in their Peacock Alley. I was there last year for the circus theme (see here). If you book it now, you get to enjoy their 5 year anniversary Afternoon Tea. I can tell you that the scones are heavenly!
